Description: An open house that will highlight the Senator’s contributions to managing and protecting Alaska’s and the nation’s fisheries. It will feature guided tours of the facility, and exhibits on the research projects at the lab. In addition we will be featuring the prototype of a plaque to be permanently installed near the entry of TSMRI with a likeness of the Senator and a short bio highlighting his contributions to protecting the nation’s marine resources and building sustainable marine fisheries.

Description: Hosted by the Kenai River Sportfishing Association and the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank, lessons will be given on how to clean and cook salmon. Fishing rods will be distributed to young people to encourage the sport of fishing.
